§ 2-559. Purchase of boots or helmet by retired firefighters.

The purchasing agent is authorized and directed to allow:

(1)

Any full-time firefighter who retires after at least twenty-five (25) years of service to purchase the helmet and/or boots issued to the firefighter by the city at a cost of one dollar ($1.00) for the helmet and/or one dollar ($1.00) for the boots; and

(2)

Any full-time firefighter who retires after at least ten (10) years of service, but fewer than twenty-five (25), to purchase the helmet and/or boots issued to the firefighter by the city at the fair market value of the helmet and/or boots.
