§ 25-37. Mobile home accessory building or structure.

  • For the purpose of this chapter, a mobile home accessory building or structure is considered a structure which is an addition to or supplements the facilities provided a mobile home. This includes, but is not limited to, awnings, cabanas, carports, storage structures, porches, or decks. Building permits must be obtained prior to the construction or installation of such structures. The application for such building permit shall be signed by both the owner or operator of the mobile home park and the person wishing to construct or install a mobile home accessory building or structure.

    (1)

    Porches or decks may be provided as an accessory to a mobile home unit. Such porches or decks shall be constructed in accordance with the building regulations and shall include handrails and/or guardrails as required therein. No porch or deck shall be constructed such that any part of that porch or deck shall be closer than ten (10) feet to another mobile home, nor to a building or structure accessory to another mobile home.

    (2)

    Accessory buildings may be provided as an accessory to a mobile home unit; however, they shall not be located closer than ten (10) feet to an adjacent mobile home, or to a building or structure accessory to another mobile home. Storage structures shall not be located closer than three (3) feet to the mobile home in which it is accessory.

    The provisions of this section shall not apply to sites legally existing on January 1, 1982.
