§ 19-5. Costs of cleanup.

  • In addition to any other penalty, cost, payment, or forfeiture provided for by law or in this chapter, all costs incurred by the city to clean up, remove, or otherwise properly dispose of solid waste not otherwise allowed under this chapter ("illegal waste") and hazardous waste shall be the responsibility of and charged to the person responsible for such illegal or hazardous waste. Collection of such costs by the city from such person responsible for the illegal or hazardous waste may be by any method or procedure authorized by law for the collection of debts owed to the city.
