§ 5.06. Absence or disability of the city manager; acting city manager; limitation on appointment of council member.

During the absence or disability of the city manager, the council may designate some properly qualified person to perform his duties until his return to duty or the appointment of his successor. Upon the death or resignation of the city manager, the council shall designate an acting city manager to serve until the appointment of a city manager. Provided that in no instance shall a member of council be appointed as city manager or acting city manager.
